The light goes on...
It is the same with his development. Kendal and I both swear that sometimes he gos to bed one night and wakes up the next morning having figured something out, and is a different guy then when he went to bed.....
Yesterday, when he woke up, it was as though he had learned how to grab everything in sight and wanted to touch everything. I brought him to the Health Unit for his shots, and he was ripping up and crinkling the paper he was laying on, and then he was grabbing for the measuring tape, and then all the toys on the counter....
Not that he couldn't pick things up the day before....but something was just different....
and then he gave me a for real hug...reached for Kendal when Kendal asked if he wanted to come to him....and was relating differently to Mercy Buckets when I was visiting Brenda....
I am so glad I can stay home with him and see all these new firsts....

Jeremy Kissing mom...
I'm not sure why, but this seems to be one of our more popular videos on YouTube....I like it, but I am biased....
Anyways, here it is....It is grainy though, as Kendal took it on his cell phone....

Baby laughing...
Monday night at supper, Kendal took some balloons that Jeremy was looking at, and started waving them back and forth hypnotically. He was paying so much attention to them that Kendal thought it would be funny to tap him on the head with them, but we didn't expect the reaction......After a couple of minutes, he started laughing hilariously ....

new born Jeremy...
This video seems to have been fairly popular on our You Tube, and so I thought I would post it again....
I CAN NOT believe Jeremy is already 4.5 months old...That is crazy. It seems like I was just holding this little bundle of bones.....
However, on a funny note...while he may not look like the newborn in this video anymore, I go to a coffee group for moms on Friday mornings at our church, and he is the oldest of the babies. He is also the SMALLEST one in the group. The youngest in age is 2 months old, and she is 15 lbs! Jeremy is 13.5 lbs as of this week......Wow! Tiny guy.

Jeremy's New Favorite Book.
OK, you would think, that because Jeremy is only 4.5 months old, he wouldn't have a lot of interest in books yet..but you would be mistaken, because apparently...he does.
We kind of already knew this, because we bought him his first cloth book over a month ago, when he showed A LOT of interest in it at a book store....but yesterday, I went to a Discovery Toys Party at my friend Lauren's house, and I bought a couple of things for him including this book.
WELL....Let me tell you....we brought it home and read it to him before bed, and he couldn't get enough....The pictures have little flaps you can pull down, and every time we did, he would laugh.
He somehow figured out that he could turn pages, and so he kept trying to do that. When I finished reading the book to him, I put it down, and he started crying and grabbing at it!!! I ended up reading it to him three times...LOL!
We said peek-a boo every time we opened a flap.. and he thought that was a great game.....
Discovery toys is actually quite an interesting company. Apparently they have been around for a long time, and they have lifetime garantees on their products. The consultant even told me that if you find a discovery toy at a garage sale and it is missing a piece, they will find it if they can....
I am considering becoming a consultant just so I can get a cheaper price on toys for myself and the kids I babysit....
If you want to check out their products for yourself, click on this link....

Well Baby Checkup!
Everything looks great! He is 13 lbs 5 oz which is smaller then what Kendal and I had guessed...(When you are carrying him in that car seat he may as well be 50 lbs....)
and he is actually at the 10th percentile right now, which makes him a very small 4.5 month old....but the doctor said not to worry because he is still growing and he is all the right proportions for his size. He is thriving and so it doesn't matter too much...She said solid foods still at 6 months, and to just keep doing what we are doing. I love a good report!

Jeremy's favorite book.-Quacky Duck...
Jeremy is going to be a book lover. Until about two weeks ago, Jer showed no interest in any kind of toy at all....not even the hanging ones above his chair....then....we went into a book store....and the lights went on. Just for fun, we showed him some kids books, and he got really excited!!!! We ended up buying him the one that excited him the most, which was the one in the picture. It has crinkly pages, bright colors...and of course...a squeaking duck. Since then we have bought him several others including a talking Elmo book,,,one of the ones which you push the buttons on and gst different music or characters talking....he loves it, and gets so excited he tries to kick his way off my lap....Yesterday we spent 45 minutes checking out pictures in a cookbook because he liked the pictures.......
